About the event
"Grieving is what enables you to go forward after a loss. It helps you so that you can give love again." ~ R. Remen The Little Book of Kitchen Table Wisdom
Good Grief utilizes "The Zola Experience" to facilitate healing spaces for individuals, families and small groups who have experienced the heart wrenching pain of loss. These sessions are most impactful in small groups of up to 8 (additional facilitators may be brought in for slightly larger groups), but can be a powerful individual journey as well.
"The Zola Experience" process will assist you along a journey of recovery from loss. This seven session journey is rooted in decolonizing practices to explore your "lost love object." Each session focuses on a different aspect of your journey and the resources available to you.
Session One: “Getting to know you”
Together, we will begin to build a foundation of support for the journey through the Zola Experience. Here we begin to recognize the resources within ourselves and others.
Session Two: “We’ve come this far by Faith”
In this session we will explore the role spirituality plays in our experiences of loss and grief.
Session Three: Messages from Family of Origin: Family Rituals/Self Care
Together we will share the knowledge, traditions, and cultural attitudes around grief and loss that have been passed down to us.
Session Four: The Benefits of Closure
An exercise to begin releasing anything that has felt unfinished regarding your lost love object.
Session Five: Lessons in Forgiveness
An opportunity to reflect, take ownership, and release.
Session Six: Legacy Tributes
Creating a lasting connection and letting go through creative expression.
Session Seven: Continuing Together as One
This final session is a time to reflect on the entire process and close out the Zola Experience.
This is a closed group, meaning one group of participants will move through the journey together. Because of this we ask that participants commit to attending all sessions.
