Holistic Mental Wellness Counselor

A little about me...

I am a Korean transracial adoptee raised in the Pacific Northwest, grateful to be living and working on the traditional land of the Duwamish people past and present. I am passionate about supporting individuals who are seeking holistic emotional and spiritual healing. Client led and centered; I aim to create a space to support you through your personal journey of healing. Solution and outcome focused, I believe in the power we receive from: understanding our stories/history, embracing our power,  learning to love ourselves, and  receiving the gifts of our ancestors.  I am interested in working with those impacted by adoption, empaths, and people of color.

When I am not working I can be found spending time with friends and family, baking, camping, reading, and volunteering for organizations that support and build community for adoptees and their families, and advocacy work for young people who have, or are experiencing foster care and/or homelessness.

I am a Korean transracial adoptee, adopted at 7 months old, and raised by a white family in the Pacific Northwest. Being a transracial adoptee deeply influences my identity and experiences and informs both my professional and personal life.

I believe that we are stronger and more resilient than we realize, and we have within us the power to heal. I am passionate about working with people to identify their strengths, examine the intersectionality of their identities, understand the power in our ancestors and our own stories.  With an emphasis on social justice, race equity, and the acknowledgment of the impact of trauma (intergenerational, interpersonal, and communal) and our culture rooted in white supremacy, together we can move towards healing.

Approach to Therapy

My hope for our time together is to build a trusting relationship, creating a safe, and powerful space to allow for the examination of yourself and what healing means for you. I understand  the power we receive when we begin to understand our stories/history, embrace our power, understand patterns in our lives,  learn to love ourselves, and receive the gifts of our ancestors.  The work we do together will be intentional, trauma informed, and led by you.

I use an Integrative therapy model, combining various therapeutic tools and approaches to best meet your needs.  Modalities include motivational interviewing, and cognitive behavioral therapy informed by theories of human behavior and social environment, attachment, and systems theory. I am strengths based, and outcome and solution focused.  If desired you will leave with tools and exercise to incorporate, practice, and expand on our time together.

I have a special interest in working with people of color, adoptees, people within the adoptee constellation, and people called to healing work.
